In a somewhat surprising move earlier this week, reports began to emerge that Arsenal wanted to sign Kai Havertz from Chelsea.

The German scored the winning goal in the 2021 Champions League final for Chelsea, but other than that, his time in England has been pretty poor.

Havertz has been forced to occupy the centre-forward role in a Blues side crying out for more goals and this has not gone to plan.

Despite this, Chelsea were thought to want around £75m for his signature – a fee Arsenal were not willing to pay.

But now, Sky Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg has claimed Havertz is very close to joining Arsenal, but it all depends on the final offer from Arsenal.

Havertz is keen to make the move to north London now as personal terms are almost agreed upon, with it added the transfer fee package is expected to be at least around €80m all in.
