Arsenal are interested in signing the Lille striker Jonathan David at the end of the season, according to reports.

As per Calciomercato, the 23-year-old has impressed with his performances in the French league, and the Gunners are looking to bring him in during the summer transfer window.

No potential transfer fee is mentioned in the report. David is valued at €60m on transfermarket.com but given how good he has been so far this season and the serious premium on top goalscorers, Lille could probably demand a higher sum if they wishes to.

David has featured 32 times in all competitions so far this term. He has scored 19 and assisted four in 29 Ligue 1 matches. He has also netted two in three cup games for the French outfit.

Such a return would be a major boost for Arsenal, who whilst they are currently top of the Premier League, would no doubt love a better goalscorer up top.

Gabriel Jesus and Eddie Nketiah are nowhere near as clinical as David in front of goal, leaving the majority of the goalscoring to be done by the likes of Gabriel Martinelli and Bukayo Saka.
