The player in question is Southampton’s Romeo Lavia.
Despite the Saints dropping down to the Championship ahead of next season, Lavi will reportedly not come cheap.
A fee of around £50m is expected to be enough to lure Lavia away from St. Mary’s, which is quite high given Southampton’s status.
Recent reports have suggested Arsenal are leading the race for the midfielder but a fresh update on the situation has emerged on Monday via Fabrizio Romano.
Romano claims that Arsenal have been working on a deal for Lavia for 15 days but Liverpool have now asked for the conditions of a Lavia deal.
It is added that neither side have made an official bid yet and that Manchester United and Chelsea are monitoring the situation, but are not in active talks yet.
