Aston Villa have completed the loan signing of midfielder Marco Asensio from Paris Saint-Germain.
The Spain international has joined the Villans until the end of the season, with the deal completed just hours before the January transfer window deadline.
“I’m really happy to join Aston Villa,” he said.
“I’m looking forward to being able to contribute to this club, to add to this team with eagerness and with lots of excitement.”
Asensio has made 16 appearances for PSG this season, scoring two goals and providing four assists.
He signed for the French giants in the summer of 2023 after nine years at Real Madrid, where he won three Champions League titles.

Asensio said the opportunity to work with Villa boss Unai Emery was a key reason for his move to the Second City.
He added: “Unai is a coach that I’ve known for a while. He’s had a great career, he’s a top coach, he’s been key in me being able to come here because of his idea of how he wants to play football.
“I love it, it suits me perfectly and he’s a really important person as to why I’m here right now.”
Villa completed a loan move for Manchester United and England forward Marcus Rashford on Sunday, having also signed Donyell Malen and Andres Garcia during the mid-season window.
Jhon Duran has also left Villa Park for Al-Nassr, with Diego Carlos and Emiliano Buendia also securing moves away during an eventful month for Emery’s side.
