Word stemming from the Spanish media on Friday evening points towards Barcelona readying a move for a key member of the frontline at Juventus.
The player in question? Angel Di Maria.
Veteran attacker Di Maria’s future is currently up in the air, ahead of the imminent expiration of his contract with Serie A giants Juve.
After a renewal was previously viewed as something of a formality, discussions between the two parties have since broken down, opening the door for a potential parting of ways come the summer.
And Barcelona, it is understood, are one club keen to take advantage of such a scenario.
As per a report from Matteo Moretto of Relevo, the Blaugrana have positioned themselves alongside the likes of Benfica and Galatasaray in the race for Di Maria’s signature.
Barca are of course readying a concerted push to bring the club’s greatest-ever player back to Catalunya this summer, on the back of his predicted departure from French champions Paris Saint-Germain.
And Di Maria, a close friend and compatriot of the seven-time Ballon d’Or winner, could be lured in first, as an added incentive for Messi.
