Joao Cancelo has been a mainstay in Manchester City’s backline for several years now.
His inverted full-back role has proven key to Manchester City’s success and inspired other sides in the division to try similar roles for their full-backs.
However, Pep Guardiola has dropped Cancelo in recent weeks over players such as teenager, Rico Lewis.
Cancelo has been left on the bench in three of Man City’s last five league games and has only completed 90 minutes once in the Sky Blues’ last six Premier League games.
This has caused plenty of speculation over the full-back’s future at the Etihad.
And now, as per David Ornstein, Manchester City defender Joao Cancelo is set to join Bayern Munich on loan. Cancelo’s loan deal is likely to include a buy option, with the German champions long-term admirers of the 28-year-old.
