A report from Inter Live claims that German champions Bayern Munich are keen on signing Croatian international Mateo Kovacic at the end of the season and they are looking to execute a part exchange deal to sign the player.
Thomas Tuchel took the reigns at Bayern Munich recently and the German has, of course, previously worked with Kovacic during his spell with Chelsea, during which time they won the Champions League together.
The 28-year-old has a contract with Stamford Bridge until the summer of 2024 and he is valued at €40m.
It is added that Bayern could look to offer Leroy Sane in a deal to sign the 28-year-old central midfielder.
Sane, 27, has made 128 appearances for Bayern since his transfer from Manchester City. In that time he has scored 37 and assisted 35.
And whilst Sane is a top player, Chelsea already have an abundance of attacking options, so swapping a midfielder for another winger is probably not in Chelsea’s best interest.
