Borussia Dortmund are closing on a deal for an out-of-favour member of the midfield setup at Bundesliga rivals Bayern Munich, according to reports.
The player in question? Marcel Sabitzer.
For those not aware, the name of Austrian international Sabitzer has taken its place front and centre in the media chatter surrounding Dortmund across the week to date.
This comes after word was forthcoming that the 29-year-old has been identified as a chief summer target on the part of the powers that be at Signal Iduna Park.
Sabitzer, of course, spent last season on loan in England, with Premier League heavyweights Manchester United.
After the Red Devils came to the decision not to make his arrival permanent, however, the former RB Leipzig standout was left with little choice but to link back up with parent club Bayern.

Dortmund, in turn, have made their move, hopeful of taking advantage of the willingness of their Klassiker rivals to negotiate a sale.
And though prior reports pointed towards the midfield all-rounder eyeing a return to England, on Sunday, it would appear that Sabitzer is in fact inching towards Dortmund.
As per German transfer expert Florian Plettenberg, a ‘turnaround’ in negotiations between the Bundesliga’s two biggest clubs, over Sabitzer, was noted earlier today.
Talks over a permanent transfer, in turn, are labelled as ‘advanced’, albeit with it reiterated that ‘it’s not a done deal yet’.
