101 covered reports on Monday, which claimed that Chelsea have drawn up a shortlist of striker targets for Mauricio Pochettino after the Argentine expressed concerns his frontline may need further firepower next season.
It was claimed that Chelsea have been in contact with a number of options, including Montpellier’s Elye Wahi and Juventus striker, Dusan Vlahovic.
However, a fresh update on Chelsea’s links to Elye Wahi on Tuesday from Fabrizio Romano who claimed: “I’m aware there have also been some reports about Chelsea and Elye Wahi, but my understanding is that it’s not something imminent at this stage.”
Now, Romano is back on Wednesday to seemingly temper expectations when it comes to the Blues’ pursuit of Juventus’ Dusan Vlahovic as well:
“Chelsea are not currently in talks over Dusan Vlahovic because they are only focused on Moises Caicedo, I keep repeating that because it’s what I know,” Romano said.
“Negotiations and verbal exchanges are ongoing with Brighton, and so there are no talks for Vlahovic at this stage. There is nothing concrete to report on this, just appreciation for the player by Chelsea and Bayern (and Thomas Tuchel in particular), but no concrete negotiations.
