101 covered reports earlier this week from Fabrizio Romano on Chelsea’s pursuit of Elye Wahi, which stated that the west Londoners plan to loan the striker out if they sign him.
Romano said: “Elye Wahi – Chelsea could face competition for this deal as German clubs like Wahi too – the competition is coming from there at the moment.
“Still, Chelsea are ahead in the race for now, and they will try to get it done this week. Strasbourg would be an option for loan but not the only one, it will be discussed in the next meetings. “For sure, he’d sign and then go out on loan, this has been Chelsea’s plan for him since day one.”
Now, a report from French outfit L’Equipe claims that Chelsea have submitted a proposal of around €27.5 million for the highly talented striker.
Montpellier are said to have turned down the offer, and it remains to be seen whether the Blues are prepared to return with an improved bid.
Wahi netted 19 goals and assisted six in 33 Ligue 1 outings for his current side last campaign.
