After a dismal 2022/23 season that ended in one of Chelseaβs lowest-ever Premier League finishes, Mauricio Pochettino has been brought in to steady the ship.
One of the biggest tasks Pochettino will face is fitting in all the new faces the Blues brought in during the last two transfer windows.
The most expensive of these players was Enzo Fernandez, who set the west Londoners back over Β£106m.
Fernandez had a decent start to life in England but is seemingly looking to change things up next season.
Fernandezβs father has revealed that his son plans to speak to the new Chelsea boss about a slightly different role, as he looks to help the club get back to challenging for the Premier League title:
βEnzo is comfortable, happy, and adjusting to London,β Raul Fernandez said.
βI think [we will see Enzo play further forward]. He was going to ask [Pochettino] to play further advanced.β
Pochettino generally preferred a four-back formation during his time at Tottenham, which could allow Fernandez to be the more advanced midfielder out of the three that are deployed.
