Chelsea are keen on signing Porto goalkeeper Diogo Costa and according to a report from Jornal de Noticias, the west Londoners are currently well-placed to land the 23-year-old goalkeeper.
One of the areas being targeted by Chelsea this summer is understood to be the goalkeeper position, with Inter Milan shot-stopper Andre Onana heavily linked with the Blues as a replacement for the now-departed, Edouard Mendy.
However, reports last month claimed that Chelsea had ended their interest in the Inter Milan goalkeeper.
As for Costa, he reportedly has a €75 million release clause in his contract, which is a lot of money for any player – never mind a goalkeeper.
Costa has been an impressive performer for Porto this past season and it is no surprise that the top clubs across Europe are keeping tabs on him.
It has been claimed that Erik ten Hag wants to find a goalkeeper to challenge David de Gea and identified Porto’s Diogo Costa as a player who could do so, but the Manchester club are not willing to pay the €75m valuation place on the 23-year-old.
