Speaking ahead of the weekend’s final round of Ligue 1 fixtures, Galtier announced Messi’s departure.
Galtier said: “I had the privilege of coaching the best player in the history of football.
“It will be Leo’s last match at the Parc des Princes against Clermont.”
This season he has enjoyed a productive campaign on a personal level with 41 goals and assists in 40 appearances.
However, in both his seasons at the Parc des Princes, the French club were eliminated from the Champions League in the Round of 16.
Now, speculation will really start to heat up as to where he will play next.
He has been linked to Saudi Arabia, the MLS and a return to Barcelona.
