German giants Bayern Munich could be in for a frustrating summer after reports that contract negotiations with Canadian international star and key left-back Alphonso Davies have broken down in Bavaria.
The 22-year-old has developed into one of the top left-backs anywhere in the world since his breakout at Bayern in the wake of his arrival from MLS outfit Vancouver Whitecaps in 2019, but his future at the club is now very much in the air according to his agent Nedal Huoseh, who has admitted that renewal talks have stalled.
With Davies potentially in the shop window at Säbener Straße, former Bayern colleague David Alaba is pushing for Real Madrid to make a play for the Canadian this summer as the Spanish giants look to refit ahead of the 2023-24 season after a disappointing campaign under Carlo Ancelotti.
News #Davies: It is said that David #Alaba is pushing for Davies! He wants him to join #RealMadrid. Both are very good friends.

This comes on the back of Madrid already harboring a long-standing interest in Davies, which could be accelerated this summer on the back of their own needs.
At current, Ancelotti has turned to French midfielder Eduardo Camavinga as a solution on the left side of the defense after Ferland Mendy failed to make the grade at Madrid. But the utilization of Camavinga out of his primary role is hardly a long-term option for either the club or the player, with the French international open in regard to the distaste of his temporary tasking.
As such, a move for Davies could potentially materialize despite Bayern’s stance that the player is for sale, with Madrid’s position potentially being bolstered after reports detail an agreement between the German giants and Portuguese international Raphaël Guerreiro that will see him arrive at the club this summer.
