Manchester City completed the signing of Croatia centre-back Josko Gvardiol on a five-year deal from RB Leipzig for £77m last weekend.
Before that, the Sky Blues signed Matteo Kovacic from Chelsea for £30m, seemingly as a replacement for Ilkay Gundogan who left on a free for FC Barcelona at the end of June.
However, reports earlier this week suggested Man City are not yet finished in the 2023 summer transfer window.
According to The Athletic, Manchester City are exploring a deal to sign West Ham United midfielder Lucas Paqueta.
A further report then claimed Manchester City have seen an £88m offer for Brazilian midfielder Paqueta rejected by West Ham, with David Moyes’ side thought to be holding out for £95m to let their star leave on the eve of the new season.
Now, speaking after West Ham’s opening weekend clash with Bournemouth, Moyes has had this to say on transfer interest in Paqueta:
“There’s a price on everybody’s head. We have had news on Lucas, but not anything to make our heads wobble. Lucas Paqueta is an incredibly talented player. We played him a bit deeper alongside Tomas [Soucek].”
