Spanish giants FC Barcelona are ready to ignore the warning signs, to push a 6th deal of the summer over the line, it has been confirmed.
The latest player primed to take his talents to the Camp Nou ahead of the new campaign? Marcos Alonso.
As per transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Spanish international Alonso is on the verge of linking up with Xavi Hernandez’s squad, with whom he is set to provide competition for Jordi Alba at left-back.
The transfer team in the Catalan capital are locked in negotiations with their Chelsea counterparts, in a bid to ‘finalise an agreement’ worth a fee in the region of €10 million over the coming days.
This comes with the personal terms of a contract having long been agreed upon between club and player.

Word of Alonso’s imminent arrival, bizarrely, comes just hours after confirmation was forthcoming that Barcelona, at present, remain unable to register the latest additions to their squad for La Liga football.
This means that, as things stand, none of Raphinha, Robert Lewandowski, Jules Kounde, Franck Kessie or Andreas Christensen are eligible to feature in the Blaugrana’s season opener versus Rayo Vallecano next weekend.
La Liga have rejected Barcelona’s attempts to register 5 summer signings (Lewandowski, Kounde, Raphinha, Kessie, Christensen) and 2 contract renewals (Dembele, S Roberto). Club must raise more funds before league campaign gets underway in 8 days. https://t.co/T8RQdXe1NR
