Tottenham Hotspur’s defence is in need of major surgery following a very poor campaign last term.
Spurs conceded a shocking 63 times in the league last season and desperately need to address this area of their squad.
The north London club have been in talks with Wolfsburg over a deal for Micky van de Ven, however, their move could be hijacked…

There are fears at Tottenham that Liverpool could hijack their move for Micky van de Ven, according to the Evening Standard.
The Reds are targeting a defender of a similar profile and have been previously linked with the Dutchman.
Spurs had been closing in on a deal, but time has since passed following that news and there have been no further updates.
One player they like is Chelsea’s Levi Colwill, who Liverpool also happen to be monitoring.
However, Chelsea insist he is not for sale and they hope to tie him down to a new contract.
Van de Ven, for now, remains their top target, although the longer they string out a deal, the greater the risk of Liverpool stealing him, as they did with Luis Diaz back in January 2022.
