One of Manchester United’s main issues last season was their lack of goals.

The Red Devils scored 58 goals in 38 Premier League outings, which was the lowest in the top six by some distance.

The second-lowest attacking output from said teams was Newcastle United, who still managed to score 68 goals.

United’s lack of goals was to be expected given their poor options up top, though. Anthony Martial scored six league goals, whilst Wout Weghorst scored zero in 17.

Now, Fabrizio Romano has provided an insight into Man United’s plans for signing a new striker in the 2023 summer window:

“Nothing is currently imminent with some of the other big-name strikers who could be on the market this summer,” he said.

“Randal Kolo Muani has also been linked with Bayern in the past, but is also appreciated by Manchester United, as is Rasmus Hojlund.”
