The future of star Tottenham and England striker Harry Kane remains in the balance after reports from Germany suggest the Spurs icon has reached an agreement with Bundesliga juggernaut Bayern Munich over a possible move to the Allianz Arena this summer.

The soon-to-be 30-year-old record-setting goalscorer has just one year left on his current contract in the English capital, and not only are Spurs hopeful that he will remain in place for the 2023-24 Premier League season, but Daniel Levy and Ange Postecoglou will also hope to convince the talisman to extend his deal

But according to Sky Sports’ Florian Plettenberg, Kane has reached terms with Bayern as the Bavarian giants continue to push to acquire his services at the behest of club boss Thomas Tuchel.

Bayern has already had two advances for the club and international goalscoring record holder rebuffed by Levy upon arrival, with the second bid coming in at €80m (£68.5m) plus add-ons, which still falls well short of the sort of figure that could possibly force Levy to finally sit down at the negotiating table.

Per Plettenberg, the chance at challenging for the Champions League under Tuchel is a motivating factor surrounding the reported agreement, while Kane is supposedly not interested in any other destination outside of the Premier League.

Additionally, according to The Daily Mail’s Sami Mokbel (cited by Bavarian Football Works), Kane’s “fence-sitting” around a possible deal puts him in the strongest position possible and in full control of his future, which suits neither club.

“Kane finds himself in a very strong position. Even if Bayern cannot strike a deal with Spurs to sign Kane during this window, the striker knows he can leave on a free transfer next year when he will have a host of Europe’s top clubs to choose from”
