The England international had been tipped to leave Old Trafford this transfer window after a disappointing 2022/23 season for United, with Tottenham and Aston Villa linked.
However, according to talkSPORT, Maguire is not keen on departing the club this summer despite being ostracised from the starting XI.
This is an issue for the Red Devils as Erik ten Hag wants to sell the England international to fund a move for Napoli star, Kim Min-jae.
But as Maguire is reluctant to give up his position at Old Trafford, that could just throw a spanner in the works regarding Ten Hag’s plans to bring in more players.
Another defender is high on the Dutchman’s wish list, with Napoli stopper Kim Min-jae thought to be the top target after a sensational season in Serie A with Napoli, which ended in them securing the league title.
Should Harry Maguire stay put in Manchester, United could be left with the same centre-back quartet which failed them in 2022/23. Lisandro Martinez and Raphael Varane are fine options, but United’s current cover for said duo is not good enough.
