According to the Athletic, Aston Villa have agreed a deal to sign Southampton central defender Jan Bednarek.
The 26-year-old is now heading to the Midlands to undergo a medical.
The Saints are working on two deals to replace him and if one is successful, they will allow him to leave.
West Ham United had also been close to agreeing a deal, however, the defender has instead chosen to join Gerrard’s team.
Villa have moved for Bednarek after losing Diego Carlos to a serious injury.
