As we edge closer to the 2023 summer transfer window opening, Arsenal look to have two main transfer targets.
West Ham captain Declan Rice is understood to be no.1 on the Gunners’ wish list, whilst Brighton’s Moises Caicedo has been linked heavily as another player of interest.
However, both of these players are expected to set Arsenal – or any other potential suitor – back a fair chunk of change.
The north Londoners received just shy of £42m for their 2nd place Premier League finish, but with around £175m expected to be needed to fund moves for Rice and Caicedo, some player sales are expected from the Emirates this summer.
First up comes Granit Xhaka. The Swiss international had a superb 2022/23 season but even before the campaign was over, it was being reported that he will be heading back to the Bundesliga for £13m.
Elsewhere, Kieran Tierney looks set to depart north London after falling out of favour, with Arsenal reportedly willing to sell the left-back for £35m.
Another two players who could easily leave Arsenal this summer are Cedric Sores and Rob Holding. The former spent 2022/23 out on loan with Fulham and is now in the final year of his contract, whilst Holding showcased that he is not good enough to provide cover for William Saliba and Gabriel.
Sores has a market value of £4m on transfermarket.com, whilst Holding is worth £10m. Should Arsenal sell all of these players for the estimated fees, they would net a total of around £88m.
