The summer clear-out at Chelsea looks set to get underway at the earliest possible convenience as the capital club, along with new boss Mauricio Pochettino, have the serious need to get their affairs in order before they can rebuild in the wake of a near-catastrophic 2022-23.
After spending ~£600m on sixteen new players, the Blues’ senior squad is overloaded with playing assets, many of which will rapidly depreciate in value if they are not jettisoned. But thankfully, the need to trim the fat surrounding the team is of critical importance in order for Chelsea to avoid potential FFP sanctions, as well as allow the club to also spend this summer to help Pochettino get the English giants back on line in rapid order.
One such asset that could be on the move in the near future is 23-year-old Cobham Academy product Trevoh Chalobah after reports from the Standard’s Dom Smith have emerged that Serie A giants Inter Milan are in the process of pushing to sign the player

Inter are said to be keen to complete a deal in the region of £25m, which would constitute pure profit for the club while also beginning the arduous task of rinsing wages off their books.
Chalobah, who is said to be targetting considerable first-team minutes in the upcoming 2023-24 season to give himself a chance of being considered for Gareth Southgate’s England team for next summer’s Euro 2024 campaign in Germany, is unclear how Pochettino intends to utilize him.
Last season, Chalobah barely featured for the Stamford Bridge side until interim boss Frank Lampard put his faith in the youngster across the bulk of the matches he took charge of to close out the season.
