The 31-year-old joined Arsenal in the latest January transfer window from Chelsea for around £10m.
He featured fairly heavily for Arsenal in the second half of the campaign, making 16 appearances in all competitions.
Arsenal now look set to revitalise their midfield ahead of the 2023/24 season, with both Granit Xhaka and Thomas Partey tipped for Emirates exits.
The main two names linked to replace them have been Declan Rice and Moises Caicedo.
But where does all of this leave Jorginho? He is under contract with Arsenal until the end of next season but has the option to extend by a further year.
However, it does not look likely that the Italian will be a first-choice midfielder for Arsenal next season.
His agent, Joao Santos, has claimed that the 31-year-old isn’t in any rush to extend his contract at the Emirates Stadium. Speaking to Italian outlet TMW, Santos said: “Have we already talked about the renewal of the contract? Not yet. For now we are calm.”
“We have a contract – with an option – until 2025.”
