A late hiccup in the ongoing negotiations between Manchester City and RB Leipzig, over a deal for Josko Gvardiol, has been confirmed on Thursday evening.
The name of Croatian international Gvardiol has of course taken its place front and centre in the headlines on the blue half of Manchester over the course of the last 24 hours.
This comes after word was forthcoming in the media, by way of reliable sources, that Premier League champions Man City were on the verge of closing a deal for the highly-regarded defender.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano went as far as to claim that Gvardiol had undergone the first part of his Sky Blues medical, after a definitive agreement was reached over a big-money fee on its way to the Red Bull Arena.

In turn, it will no doubt come as a source of concern for all associated with Pep Guardiola’s side, late on Thursday, to hear of last-minute issues brewing between City and Leipzig.
In a further update on the situation, the aforementioned Romano has confirmed ‘tension’ during the final round of discussions.
This has resulted in Leipzig, for the time being, blocking the 21-year-old from completing his medical.
In fact, doubts have begun to spread as to whether or not Gvardiol did indeed carry out the first leg of his fitness tests with City.
The transfer is still described as ‘on’, but hurdles, evidently, remain to be overcome.
