The player in question is Southampton midfielder, Romeo Lavia.
Following Southampton’s relegation from the Premier League last season, Lavia’s future has been up in the air.
Over the course of the summer, all of Arsenal, Manchester United, Liverpool and Chelsea have been tipped to make a move for the Belgian.
However, in recent weeks, it has been Liverpool and Chelsea who have shown the most interest in the youngster.
Both clubs need fresh legs in midfield this summer after big clearouts, but according to Fabrizio Romano, Liverpool remain focused on Lavia:
“Jurgen Klopp has spoken about working on solutions for midfield, but my understanding remains that the priority is still absolutely Romeo Lavia,” Romano said.
“Liverpool will try to find the best way to sign him also because they’re aware of Chelsea interest.”
