Liverpool and Chelsea faced off on the opening weekend of the Premier League season and drew 1-1.
It was not the only recent battle the two clubs have been involved in, however.
Friday morning saw Jurgen Klopp confirm in his press conference that Liverpool had a bid accepted for Moises Caicedo.
Managers very rarely confirm deals to the media, suggesting Liverpool were sure a deal was wrapped up.
But just a few hours later, it was reported that Caicedo turned down Liverpool as he had already agreed personal terms with Chelsea earlier in the summer.
So, it is not too surprising to see Klopp somewhat snappy when asked about transfers on Sunday.
“That’s what each Chelsea manager wants and usually they get it,” the German responded.
Klopp added that he had ‘no news’ when asked for an update on the club’s pursuit of Caicedo and Romeo Lavia but confirmed that the club remain keen on strengthening.
The Liverpool boss said: “These specific players, you can see in the moment the market is obviously crazy. It’s no secret that we are looking for something like that.”
