Inter Miami have, on Thursday evening, announced the latest high-profile addition to the club’s first-team squad.

The efforts of MLS outfit Inter on the transfer front have of course found themselves at the forefront of the media headlines for several weeks now.

This comes with David Beckham’s side in the midst of adding a whole host of legends of the European game to their ranks.

The most eye-catching, by some distance, came in the form of Lionel Messi, with the seven-time Ballon d’Or winner having finally been unveiled in Inter colours last weekend:

Then, swiftly following Messi to the DRV PNK Stadium was another Barcelona icon, in Sergio Busquets.

Midfielder Busquets, like his close friend and former teammate, has put pen to paper on terms in Florida through the summer of 2025.

On the back of long-running speculation, the Herons have this evening announced a headline addition to the club’s defensive ranks, too.

The latest player to have taken his talents to MLS to line out for Tata Martino’s men? Jordi Alba.

A free agent owing to the expiration of his terms with the aforementioned Barca, left-back Alba has opted to reunite with both Messi and Busquets in the United States.

As per a statement across Inter Miami’s website and social media platforms:

‘Inter Miami CF announced today that it has signed Spanish national team defender Jordi Alba to a contract through the 2024 Major League Soccer (MLS) season, with a Club option for 2025.’
