Liverpool are growingly increasingly confident about signing three marquee stars by early July, according to Football Insider.
They add that the Reds are working on deals for Mason Mount, Alexis Mac Allister and Ryan Gravenberch, with the trio emerging as the club’s top targets ahead of the 2023/24 season.
Targeting the likes of Gravenberch and Mac Alister does make sense given how weak Liverpool’s midfield has been this season.
Fabinho has been in poor form for large periods, whilst Jordan Henderson is past his best and players likes Curtis Jones are either not good enough or lack experience.
However, signing three midfielders in one summer does seem to be somewhat wasteful.
Whilst two new midfielders are likely needed at Anfield, there are other areas of the pitch that may need to be addressed by Jurgen Klopp.
