The player in question is Levi Colwill.
20-year-old Levi Colwill spent the 2022/23 season on loan in the Premier League with Brighton.
The Seagulls secured a Europa League place for the first time in their history with the centre-back playing an important role.
He has since linked up with England’s under-21 team to compete for the European Championship, most recently playing 90 minutes in a 1-0 win over Portugal.
However, his future at Stamford Bridge is unsettled heading into the 2023/24 campaign.
Should new boss Mauricio Pochettino opt to play a four-back formation next term, all of Thiago Silva, Benoit Badiashile, Wesley Fofana and Trevoh Chalobah stand in the way of Colwill earning regular minutes.
However, it is believed that Chelsea see Colwill as not for sale.
Understand despite being told Colwill is not for sale, Liverpool have spoken to Levi Colwill’s camp again, stating even at a record price they would be interested.
He’s one reason they haven’t signed a CB. Liverpool also enquired to Chelsea directly.
