A pair of Premier League giants have entered the race for a key member of the defensive setup at Bayern Munich, according to reports.
The player in question? Benjamin Pavard.
For those not aware, the subject of stopper Pavard’s future has long taken its place front and centre in the headlines in Bavaria.
This comes amid long-standing speculation that the Frenchman has set his sights on a new challenge.
With Pavard’s current terms with Bayern are due to come to a close next summer, the powers that be at the Allianz Arena are therefore fully aware that the coming summer could mark their last opportunity to secure a reasonable return for his services.
To this point, a number of European football’s biggest clubs have been tipped as potential destinations, with both Barcelona and Inter Milan understood to be long-term admirers of the 27-year-old’s talents.

As per a report from Kicker, Manchester United and Liverpool have made contact with their counterparts at Bayern, over the situation of the former Stuttgart standout.
This comes as both give consideration to summer proposals for Pavard.
Carlo Ancelotti’s Real Madrid, meanwhile, are too keeping a close eye on developments.
