The news broke last week that Liverpool were out of the running for Jude Bellingham.
Paul Joyce of The Times reported that Liverpool are drawing up a list of alternative targets to Jude Bellingham after deciding that the scale of their summer rebuild precludes a move for the England midfielder. With it added that the merits of spending far in excess of £100m on a single player have been widely debated at Anfield.
Despite turning their attention away from Bellingham, though, it is clear Liverpool still need one or two new central midfielders through the door at Anfield this summer.
But on Monday, a second big name has been ruled out by the higher-ups at Anfield.
As per Football Insider, Brighton’s Moises Caicedo is no longer being considered by Liverpool, with the price tag deemed too much amid big interest from Arsenal and Chelsea.
However, Alexis Mac Alister, Mason Mount, Conor Gallagher, Joao Palhinha and Nicolo Barella are also still on Liverpool’s radar with the report from FI adding that Barella will push to leave Inter Milan this summer if they miss out on Champions League football.
