Liverpool have already made one major signing this summer despite the window not being officially open yet.
The Reds snapped up 2022 World Cup winner and former Brighton star Alexis Mac Allister for just £35m.
The Argentine had a sensational campaign and is sure to prove a fine addition to Jurgen Klopp’s midfield.
However, Liverpool still need at least one more central midfield to fix their midfield, which has already lost James Milner, Naby Keita, Alex Oxlade Chamberlain and Arthur Melo this summer.
One player they will seemingly not be signing, though, is Feyenoord’s Orkun Kokcu.
Kokcu was a player that Klopp was apparently ‘charmed by’ according to De Telegraaf, but it looks as if the 22-year-old is going to sign for Portuguese giants, Benfica.
The midfielder will also have a release clause of €120m, so it is hard to see Liverpool trying to sign him anytime soon.
Liverpool will now likely focus more of their attention on other midfield targets, which include Khephren Thuram and Manu Kone.
