Liverpool will likely need to spend in January if they are to turn their season around after a fairly dismal start that has seen them fall well off the pace of Manchester City and Arsenal.
The latest rumour has Liverpool supposedly battling with Arsenal to sign a player from La Liga.
According to Spanish news outlet Fichajes, Liverpool are expressing an interest in signing Villarreal forward Samuel Chukwueze. It has been stated that the Reds have joined the race to sign the talented winger.
The report claims that Jurgen Klopp is looking at possibly bolstering his forward line during the January transfer window. It is then claimed in the article that Chukwueze is also attracting interest from Arsenal, West Ham and Everton.
In terms of a potential fee, it has been claimed that Villarreal would demand at least €50m (£43.5m) to part ways with Chukwueze in January.
Chukwueze joined current side Villarreal in 2017 and has since worked his way through their youth ranks before being promoted to their senior side in 2018.
Chukwueze is a natural right-winger would he can also operate on the left if required.
And given Liverpool have no natural cover for Mohamed Salah, signing the Nigerian would make sense this winter.
