As 101 covered on Friday, Riyad Mahrez has left Manchester City to join Al-Ahli Saudi Football Club.

Mahrez joined the Sky Blues from Leicester in 2018 in a £60m deal. Since then he has won the Premier League four times as well as two FA Cups, three Carabao Cups, two Community Shields and the Champions League once.

Mahrez scored 78 and assisted 59 in 236 games across all competitions for City.

Mahrez’s exit comes at an awkward time for the Sky Blues as the new season is just a few weeks away and he was their only natural right-winger.

Both Bernardo Silva and Phil Foden can play in that role, but the former has also once again been linked with an Etihad exit, whilst the pair being used on the right would weaken the centre of City’s team.

So, it seems clear Man City need to replace Mahrez soon, and they look to have found an ideal candidate in the form of Michael Olise.

Chelsea also hold an interest in Olise, but Man City should have no trouble convincing him to join them over a side without Champions League football.
