The player in question is Eintracht Frankfurt striker, Randal Kolo Muani.
Muani joined Frankfurt last summer and the striker has gone on to have a very impressive debut season in Germany.
He scored 23 goals and provided 17 assists in 46 outings across all competitions this past season.
Previous reports have suggested that Manchester United will have to pay €120m to secure Muani’s services.
Now, an update on the transfer race for Muani has been provided.
According to French outlet L’Equipe, Manchester United and Bayern Munich have emerged as the favourites to sign the former Nantes man. Frankfurt, though, are keen on keeping him, and new manager Dino Toppmoller will discuss the prospect of staying on an extra season with Muani in the coming days.
Given Harry Kane and Victor Osimhen are expected to cost over £100m, Manchester United may be best served focusing their attention on Muani.
