As for Martial, he had a brilliant pre-season but has been inundated with injury issues so far this campaign.
This has left Marcus Rashford to fill the void up top. The Englishman has done a decent job so far, but he too has had his fair share of injury woes, and is currently a doubt for the Manchester derby on Sunday.
So, it is easy to see why Erik ten Hag is looking to add some more depth up front.
The striker has scored eight and assisted five in 12 games for Benfica so far this season.
And according to Portuguese outfit Jornal de Notícias, Manchester United and PSG are the most attentive to Goncalo Ramos’ performances at Benfica and there are signs ‘they may tighten in January’.
