Reports earlier this week claimed Manchester United were thought to be in the market to sign AC Milan full-back Theo Hernandez this summer – but will have to pay up for the privilege.
La Gazzetta dello Sport reported that Man United is a possible destination for the left-back, although they would have to pay at least €60m (£51.35m) to sign him.
Now though, Fabrizio Romano has seemingly put those rumours to bed.
The journalist claims Manchester United deny concrete talks or contacts for Theo Hernández, adding there are no negotiations at this stage and that AC Milan would never consider selling him for the reported €60m fee.
Romano goes on to state that Man United have different priorities in the market.
On paper, Manchester United need at least one striker through the door this summer, but as Anthony Martial is currently their only option, a second centre-forward would make sense.
And finally, a new goalkeeper who is good with the ball at his feet and cover at centre-back should be looked at.
