According to a report from Jornal de Noticias, the Red Devils have been keeping tabs on Porto striker Mehdi Taremi for some time and they could look to make a move in the summer.
The report from Jornal de Noticias claims that the striker is valued in excess of €20 million and Manchester United certainly have the financial resources to pay that kind of money for him. Signing a proven goalscorer like Taremi for a fee of around €20 million could prove to be a major bargain.
Taremi joined Porto from Rio Ave in 2020. He has since featured 147 times for the Portuguese outfit, scoring 80 and assisting 47 in the process.
The 30-year-old had a prolific 2022/23 campaign, netting 31 and assisting 14 in 51 games across all competitions.
He also caught the eye at the 2022 World Cup when he netted twice vs England in the group stage.
And whilst Man United are looking to move away from signing older players, they have no good striking options at present, so signing Taremi on the cheap may be a smart move this summer.
