The Red Devils already lost a number of players, including Paul Pogba, Jesse Lingard and Nemanja Matic, on July 1 when their contracts at Old Trafford expired.
However, it is being reported that another six players could be leaving Manchester this summer.
The Mirror report that Manchester United are trying to make at least two more signings before deadline day – after the arrival of Casemiro from Real Madrid. But offloading existing players has become just as problematic for United as persuading new names to join Erik ten Hag’s squad.
On the six players United want to get rid of before deadline day on September 1, there have been few takers, with many on such exorbitant wages or simply not considered good enough for other clubs to decide to take them on.
The players named in the report by the Mirror are Eric Bailly – who looks set to join Marseille, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Phil Jones, Axel Tuanzebe, Brandon Williams and James Garner.
Garner’s sale is somewhat surprising as the midfielder had an excellent 2021/22 with Nottingham Forest and could have helped out United’s weak midfield area.
