Chelsea and Manchester United have been heavily linked with Napoli striker Victor Osimhen during the 2022/23 season.
The striker has excelled in Italy this campaign, scoring 26 goals and providing five assists in just 33 appearances across all competitions for the soon-to-be Serie A champions.
Now though, it looks as though Manchester United have taken a back seat in the race for Osimhen and handed Chelsea a clear run in the process.
According to Sky Germany, the Red Devils are currently pushing the hardest to sign Eintracht Frankfurt’s Randal Kolo Muani this summer instead of Napoli star Osimhen.
The report adds that Erik ten Hag ‘ranks’ Eintracht Frankfurt’s Kolo Muani higher than Osimhen, suggesting he could very well be the Dutchman’s first choice. The Frenchman has scored 20 goals and registered 14 assists in 40 appearances since joining the German outfit on a free transfer last summer.
Osimhen has previously earned comparisons to Chelsea legend, Didier Drogba. Jose Mourinho said: “He [Osimhen] is of the same level as Drogba, but Didier didn’t dive. If Victor changes, then OK.”
