According to Football Insider, Wolves are likely to accept an offer of £50m for Ruben Neves even if they avoid relegation to the Championship.
It has previously been reported by FI that the 26-year-old is ready to quit Molineux this summer as he wants a new challenge at the highest level possible.
It is added that Liverpool enquired about Neves in January but were told he was not for sale at that time.
The midfielder is now out of contract in 15 months and Wolves have held renewal talks – but have been left unsatisfied with how they have progressed. And now, Wolves do not want to let him enter the final 12 months of his deal and risk him signing a pre-contract agreement with a foreign side in January 2024.
Neves would be a good signing for both Manchester United and Liverpool. The Red Devils need a reliable partner for Casemiro at the base of their midfield, with Neves a much more appealing option than Fred or Scott McTominay.
As for Liverpool, their entire midfield needs a rejig and Neves would be a smart signing along with Jude Bellingham.
