The player in question is Brighton’s Moises Caicedo, who was heavily linked with Arsenal earlier this year.
Arsenal’s interest in Caicedo first came about back in January and Mikel Arteta and co. were seemingly very keen to get a deal done.
The north Londoners saw bids of £60m, £70m and £80m turned down during the winter window.
More recently, Liverpool have joined the race for the Ecuadorian as they cool off their interest in Jude Bellingham.
And now, it is being reported by Football Insider that Manchester United have entered the race for Moises Caicedo as Erik ten Hag looks to beat the rest of the Premier League competition to the midfielder.
Despite the 21-year-old signing a new contract with Brighton recently, FI claim Manchester United could land him for £80m.
All three of the aforementioned clubs could do with Caicedo on their books. Liverpool are perhaps the most desperate for midfield reinforcements, but Manchester United also need a long-term option to fill the Christian Eriksen role.
