Football Insider reported earlier this week that Manchester United are keeping tabs on Everton midfielder Amadou Onana ahead of a potential move this summer.

United need a second proper defensive midfielder to rotate with card-happy Casemiro and Onana would be a wise choice.

The Belgian is under contract with Everton until 2027. No potential fee was mentioned in the report but if the Toffees go down, it was assumed that any transfer fee would be lessened.

Now though, a fresh report from FI claims that Everton are willing to sell midfielder Onana this summer if relegated from the Premier League. However, the fee they want is £50m, which is pretty steep for any player who is relegated to the Championship.

Everton started Sunday one point above the relegation zone with a game in hand. However, that match was against a Manchester City side unbeaten in months and looking to pip Arsenal to the Premier League title and they lost 3-0.

Should the Toffees stay up, Man United may have a hard time convincing Everton to part with the midfielder.
