The Red Devils have been targeting a new no.1 heading into the 2023/24 campaign, with David de Gea still yet to officially sign a new contract with United despite his last deal running out earlier this week.
The main player tipped for a Man United switch in recent weeks has been Inter Milan’s Andrea Onana after Chelsea withdrew their interest in the shot-stopper.
However, Inter Milan’s asking price of around €50m is proving a sticking point for the higher-ups at Old Trafford.
Now, it seems Manchester United are looking to replace De Gea with another Spaniard.
According to the Daily Mail, the Red Devils are now running the rule over Brighton and Hove Albion’s £30m-rated Robert Sanchez, who has apparently fallen out with manager Roberto De Zerbi.
Sanchez joined Brighton at under-18 level from Levante. He has since featured 90 times for the Seagulls’ first team, keeping 29 clean sheets in the process.
