The player in question is Manchester United’s main transfer target, Rasmus Hojlund.
Fabrizio Romano reported earlier in the week that Erik ten Hag’s side have sent a first verbal proposal of €50m plus a further potential €10m in add-ons, taking the total to €60m.
This is some way away from Atalanta’s reported asking price of around €90m. To further Man United’s issues, French champions PSG have also shown a strong interest in the Dane of late.
And with the Premier League season just a few weeks away, United need to get a striker in as soon as possible.
Now, Romano has provided a fresh update on United’s Hojlund’s pursuit on Saturday:
“Man United are preparing a new attack for the Rasmus Hojlund deal. A new round of talks in which they will be very, very aggressive,” he said.
“[…] This is a crucial moment. United are optimistic because Hojlund is obsessed with the club, but now United have to show, in terms of money, they are obsessed with Rasmus Hojlund.”
