Manchester United look to be in the market for a new goalkeeper.
David de Gea has been a mainstay in United’s side for many years and recently entered the Red Devils’ top-10 list for most appearances.
However, De Gea is not good with the ball at his feet and as Erik ten Hag prefers to play out from the back, it would make sense to sign a new shot-stopper who is good on the ball.
Former Manchester United striker Louis Saha suggested Edouard Mendy of Chelsea as an option.
Louis Saha told Football Odds and Betting: “De Gea is still right at the top level, but of course making mistakes like he did against Everton is never good. Over the years, De Gea has done tremendous performances to save the team and he deserves the time and credit for that.
“If De Gea doesn’t sign a new contract then a move for Chelsea goalkeeper Edouard Mendy would make perfect sense.
However, whilst Mendy is a decent keeper, he too has struggled to play out from the back under Graham Potter and has lost his place in the side to Kepa.
