Otávio arrives in the Gulf Kingdom as the fifth signing by Al-Nassr this summer, following in the wake of Sadio Mané, Seko Fofana, Marcelo Brozović, and Alex Telles, taking Faris Najd’s overall spending at the time of writing to €137m, while the club has secured their new midfield triumvirate behind an attacking trio of Ronaldo, Mané, and Talisca.
The Portuguese international had been a key instrument for Porto for eight seasons after his arrival from Internacional in 2014, making 282 appearances in all competitions for the Liga Portugal Betclic giants, scoring 31 goals and banking nine major honors along the way.
His arrival signals the latest in an ongoing effort by Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund to secure their target of 50 signings during the current transfer window as part of their phased plans to rapidly improve the domestic game in the Gulf Kingdom, before ultimately looking to broaden its global reach.
