The player in question is Mason Mount of Chelsea.
Mount is entering the final year of his Chelsea deal and his future looks to be away from Stamford Bridge.
The Englishman has had a poor 2022/23 season and with the Blues signing so many new forwards, including Christopher Nkunku who is due to join the club this summer, an exit does make sense from Mount’s point of view.
Several English clubs have shown an interest in Mount in recent months, including Arsenal, Manchester United and Liverpool.
However, speaking on Sky Sports, David Ornstein has said that as it stands, it is Man United who are winning the race:
“My understanding is that Mason Mount is leaning towards Manchester United if Chelsea agree to sell him and talks are set to take place in due course,” Ornstein said.
