Reports suggest Brighton will demand a fee of £75 million to green-light a deal for Caicedo.
All of Arsenal, Manchester United and Chelsea have been linked with a move for the South American in recent months.
However, Fabrizio Romano reported at the end of June that Chelsea were set to open talks with Brighton for Caicedo, with negotiations between the two clubs believed to have now started.
Now, the player himself has been quizzed on Chelsea’s interest and did not hold back in his praise for the club:
“It’s a big team, that’s true. A very historic team and I can’t say No, because it’s a very big, historic, beautiful team. The city as well is beautiful. It’s got everything beautiful.”
Caicedo was also quick to acknowledge Brighton fans, speaking of how well they’ve treated him and his family from day one, he said: “The affection of the fans, the affection that all of us players have mutually. It’s like a family.
